Jason Voorhees is remade

I discovered this today while surfing on my break at work. Im not a huge fan of all the horror remakes that Hollywood seems to be just pulling out of there ass, but shit this is Friday the 13th. In my mind Jason is the king of slasher films, yeah there corny and laughable and not at all scary, but thats not the point.
The point is Jason Voorhees is a horror icon and not to sound to lame, but one of those characters that I grew up watching as a kid. I remember being a small kid and watching Friday the 13th videos back to back. From what I read about this remake, it looks like there going to give you some background info on him, the mask his mother and then let the killing ensue and he murders teenagers left and right...Im there.
