Friday the 13th pt 3 - The book

Recently I was at a friends house and hes cleaning out his room with all his dvds and books and such and I spot with my eye the actual Friday the 13th pt. 3 book. It was published in 1982, so anyways I immediately tell him can I borrow this I have to read it to find out if there is anything different from the movie. Part 3 being my favorite of the series, I have to see if its different.
While there are a few parts that are different the one that mostly caught me off gaurd was dare I say the ending... We all know the ending of pt. 3, how Jason catches an axe to the head which gives him the famous gash on the right side of his mask/head and finally falls down. The ambulance and the police show up and well that pretty much sums it up. Now Im going to type this directly from the book the ending that was written.

- Then Jason turned his attention back to Chris, and got more than even he had ever bargained for. While he had been busy with the black man, she had found a sickle, the only available weapon close at hand. She seized it with all the hatred and determination left in her aching, bruised, tortured body. Jason looked up. His eyes went wide with fear. For a moment, he almost looked human. But it was only an illusion. Chris was running right at him, something shining in her hand. It went aloft and came down with one vicious, swiping motion, and lopped the mad monsters's head off directly where his neck met his shoulders. Crimson and carmine and vermilion flowed. -

Ok I didnt want to write anymore, but reading this book and finishing it tonight just blew me away at how good it was. Also made me think at this time, they obviously werent thinking about the many cinematic sequals that followed. Anyways I thought I would share that with you fellow horror people. Sorry it was so long but again to me it was very interesting.
