Vegas 08'

Well 2 weeks ago I ended up in lost Vegas some how enjoying my time gambling and visiting the fight gyms in the area and oh yeah getting hitched. Angela's friends my brother and his friend, and a college buddy here all went. We gambled and stayed out til 3 or 4 in the morning just wandering the strip... From hookers to porn cards to McDonalds at 3 in the morning to smokey little shithole casinos. It was only my second time there, but still it was just as fun if not better than the first time I was there.

My brother, myself and our friend Adam, all ventured out on our MMA journey to find Gina Carano the famous female MMA fighter and famous American Gladiator known as Crush. We visited Xtreme Couture and Master Toddys Muay Thai Gym. Finally found her and got to talk to her and get pictures with her. She was so awsome. At Xtreme Couture we were hoping to meet Randy Couture and Wanderlei Silva, but Randy was out and Wanderlei wa probably off training somewhere else.

So after eating at an expensive restuarant where our bill was about $800...yeah beleive me I ate my steak and it was amazing. The whole dinner was amazing $800 amazing!! Venturing from casino to casino, looking for the lowest minimum bet...it wasnt at Ceasars. Still had a lot of fun, I was up $130, used that to eat and shop and then actually used some of my own money which by the time it was all over I was only down $80.

So not that its a big deal, but yeah I got married. I havent really told anyone and dont really care to. Yeah I wrote this blog, but I know not many people read this so it doesnt really matter. It was a small little ceremony if you could call it that and off to the strip to gamble again. No big deal cheap and easy like the hookers on the strip. Good times had by all and especially getting my pic with Gina, which by the way shes fighting on May 31st for EliteXC on CBS. The first televised female MMA bout.

Tony Stark is IRON MAN

Today with the release of Iron man I was pumped. I had been waiting on this movie for a while. Im a huge fan of Iron man and just the whole armor design and such. If it wasnt for the armor design I probably would just lump him in with all the other super heroes.

Well on another cool note, work planned a little outing for the floorplan group that was well appreciated. It was awsome to go see the movie with the group but even more awsome for the fact they paid for it. So anyways, the movie kicked so much ass. I dont want to give to much away but I have to say it stayed pretty true to the comic even going thru the different prototypes of his armor. With good action, a good story and some elements of humor the movie had a little bit of everything for everyone who attended.

While watching it I couldnt help but think this is as close as its going to get for what the U.S. would see as mech action. Especially the climax of the film...nothing but metal. Tony Stark wears the armor suit but again by American standards robot action every where. I mean I just kept thinking Japanese audiences are going to go crazy when they see this. There probably thinking of it as a breathe of fresh air considering that the Japanese are usually the one with breakthru mech action. For those who dont know mech or mecha is short for mechanical and in Japanese terms it refers to anything relating to machines be it guns, vehicles or in most cases robots. So again with this hitting theaters I think the Japanese will enjoy this film and be impressed for that matter.

I have to say after talking with my group we all were impressed with the film and had a great time. I have to geek out here for a minute and even mention the end credits were pretty awsome in the sense of they had the actual specs of the Iron Man suit and basically showed cad like drawings of the armor with animated break aways which showed the construction of Iron Man. Very cool indeed, cant wait for the dvd release of this.
